biking in the rain
August 12th, 2005is one of the most fun things ive ever found to do.
is one of the most fun things ive ever found to do.
….the power went out. seriously.
imean, it was out from 1:40 to some time in the middle of the night… so,
i guess i have no excuse for not doing the updates between 9pm and 1am…
but, well, i was gonna do it after i finished reading heinlein number of
the beast. good book/badly edited.
okay back to being bored busy frustrated kinda sleepy and hungry… still
at work.
… or i would’ve been dropping a deuce in a cathole RIGHT by the side of the road. the road being diamond drive. which for those of you that dont live here, is one of the only two 4lane roads in los alamos.
anyways.
after that 55 minute 8+ miler down and up the canyon, i wont be moving anytime soon. so updates are, more possibly than ever before, forthcoming.
who the heck is bob?
the second floor balcony, a swimming pool thats not ours, running around ggrl in the hailstorm, swimming in diamond drive, homeboy, playing poker and liking it (shit that means im gonna start playing with you guys, will and evs and all… my life is over…) they’re just black poker chips…
it’s been a good time.
Check it out at: The New York Times > Technology > Multimedia > Video. It’s kinda funny…
Sunday morning: July 3: 1pm: to go to santa fe and see mr and mrs smith with dave and marlon, or to hope that Christina and Julian will wake up and call me back and want to go climbing… that was the question… and, well, climbing happened!
Cattle Call Wall: [letter B on the thing that looks like a map] This long solid wall lies across the river from Gateway Rock and has many top-rope anchors (five bolts) in-situ.
*2* Ow Now 11a The far left face. Natural protection. FA: Gary Clark
*3* Bovine Inspiration 5.9
*4* Cud For Lulu 5.8
*5* Pie In Your Eye 5.6
*6* Cow Flop Crack 5.8 The crack in the middle of the wall. FA: Clark
*7* Moon Over Belen 5.6Far right end.
Now, I don’t have a nice picture of the whole wall to be sure, but, i coulda sworn there was a 10c in the middle, and a 9 over on the right… Not that we did the 10c, or the 11a crap over on the left, but it was there all right. and that 9 in the middle, the fourth and last climb we did… that was damn hard; my back and legs and psyche are still crying from it… and i want to go back and do it for real, without the bajillin false starts, and the horrible sinking feelings each time i got above my last bolt…
But don’t get me wrong! it was an amazing day and if Christina or Julian happen to read this, then, thankyou! lets do it again sometime!
time spent running: 1:51:34
